Are you a Motivated Pianist?
You play Intermediate -
Advanced music well. You
know you could play more beautifully but you are looking for a teacher who can encourage you and show you how?
If this sounds like you, I’ve been where you are I and understand your frustration!! That’s why I created this mini course! Inside you will find short (5-7 minute), easy to understand lessons, demonstrating one technique at a time that you can incorporate into your playing. By practicing each technique before watching the next lesson, you can achieve an amazing transformation with your playing, whether you're an intermediate or advanced pianist.
You will also discover the amazing sound of the Russian School of Piano Technique and the joy of playing with this beautiful tone. . . think Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov!! This is such a gift to be able to share with you in this short course some of the most amazing and valuable skills I learned as a Piano Performance Major at the University of Tulsa school of Music. There I paid thousands of dollars and spent thousands of hours practicing to learn these things. If you put into practice the things in this course you will save an unbelievable amount of time, money and effort.
Happy Practicing and May God Bless You!

Course Overview
Lesson 1 - Playing with Weight
- This is the basis for the full-body approach to playing that the Russian School of Piano Technique is built on
Lesson 2 - Playing with a Strong Wrist, then Relaxing
- As you lean into the piano with the full weight of the body, you will learn to catch that weight in your hand with a strong wrist and then relax so as to avoid tension in your playing and keep a beautiful tone
Lesson 3 - Imagine the Keys Pushing Up Against Your Fingers
- Since the piano is a percussive instrument, we can avoid creating a sound that stops as the key is pressed down, by pretending that each key is pushing up against our fingers instead.
- This will give the effect of the sound coming up out of the piano instead of going down.
- It also helps to create a lighter more singing legato sound
Lesson 4 - Playing Each Hand, with Both Hands
- Practice the right hand notes with both the right hand and left hand together, then practice the right hand with just the right hand and imitate the sound of both hands playing the right hand part.
- Practice the left hand notes the same way
- then put both hands together to achieve the full sound that's more like 4 hands playing than two.
Lesson 5 - Drop With Weight Into Keys, Then Rotate
- Pick up the hand and drop the full weight of the whole hand into the first key that you are playing
- then rotate that weight using the fingers and wrist into the next key and
- continue this technique throughout the notes of the passage
