Ruth has taught her own 6 children to play the piano,
from a very young age. She knows, from experience, that more practice and longer lessons doesn't always help young children, cultivate a lifelong love of making music on the piano. Whereas most piano lessons for the beginner are 15-30 minutes long and require daily practice, this course only requires one weekly lesson that
is less than 5 minutes long. The student is encouraged to go to the piano as interested, throughout the week and play from the current lesson or review a previous lesson.
2. What age should my child start this course?
This course is for children ages 3-6, and their mother, to see how easy it is to help their child learn to play the piano. **Since Ruth did not get to start lessons as she wished to when she was young so she loves to give students an early introduction to the joy of making music on the piano.
3. Does my child need a piano or keyboard?
Either one will work just fine to get started. It is helpful if the keyboard has full size keys but it does not have to have 88 keys like the piano. Our children use a keyboard for a lot of their practice.
4. Is it a one-time payment?
Yes, it is a one-time payment of just $27 for the Mommy and Me Piano - Mini Course.

About Ruth
Ruth Hopkins, BM, MAed, is married to her best friend David, and is a busy homeschooling mother to their 6 kids. She is also a classically trained pianist and teacher with more than 30 years experience. She loves to help her students (including her 6 children) realize their dream of playing the piano with ease and pass along the joy of making beautiful music to them. She also enjoys spending time with her family, eating healthy and exercising. Ruth grew up playing the piano in Church and loves to blend classical styles of music with Hymns that reflect her faith. When she's not playing solo, she collaborates with her husband, a tenor with a gorgeous voice.
Student Testimonial
Lily, who’s 3, loves her short, weekly piano lessons. She also is delighted to perform with our family
in retirement home concerts each week and practices throughout the week on her own.
**This video was taken January 2024 during a concert. Here, Lily is singing “You Are My Sunshine”
and accompanying herself - freestyle on the piano.
